'Parekoy' Synopsis

The afternoon timeslot has often been associated with drama shows, either of the Tagalog or Mexican telenovela variety. ABS-CBN plans to change that with the program Parekoy, a comedy that runs for only 30 minutes like American sitcoms instead of the usual hour-long show.
The show's creators describe it as a komediserye, something with a "structure of a teleserye , but the feel and look of a sitcom." The series is about the misadventures of friends Joseph, Mario, and Jess (John Prats, Zanjoe Marudo and Jayson Gainza, respectively) and how they think up ingenuous ways to help people in need. A fourth member of their barkada, Ringo, died when they were just teenagers. Ringo's death holds the key to a mystery that will unravel as the story goes along. Think of the show as a daily Palibhasa Lalake with crazy characters and antics, only the show ends in a cliffhanger and not with the stars throwing pails of water at each other.
Casting three cute guys was a move to lure the target audience: women. Erwin Aurella of Parekoy explains, "Type kasi ng babae ang mga guwapo at may sense of humor na lalaki."

New sitcom "Pare Koy" to replace "Prinsesa ng Banyera"

Isang season lang ang itatagal ng Prinsesa ng Banyera nina Kristine Hermosa at Angelika dela Cruz. Napag-alaman ito ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) sa star ng isusunod na show kaagad dito, si John Prats.
Kasali si John sa Shake, Rattle & Roll 9, "Christmas Tree" episode, at nakausap namin siya sa pictorial ng movie sa Valencia compound ng Regal Films kagabi, November 4.
Ayon kay John, this week, magsisimula na silang mag-taping nina Jason Gainza at Zanjoe Marudo ng comedy soap na Pare Koy. Sa darating na Tuesday, November 6, ang first taping day nito sa Quezon City.
Ang mga role nila sa Pare Koy were culled from the characters na ginampanan noon nina John, Zanjoe, and Jayson sa defunct sitcom ng ABS-CBN na Aalog-Alog.
Sabi ni John, sa December na raw magpa-pilot ang Pare Koy pagkatapos ng Wowowee. This is the same time slot being occupied by Prinsesa ng Banyera na ngayon ay katapat ang Sine Novela ng GMA-7, Pasan Ko ang Daigdig nina Yasmien Kurdi at JC de Vera.
Ang Prinsesa ng Banyera ang unang afternoon soap ng ABS-CBN after a long while. Iisang season lang ang itatagal nito sa ere kung sakaling papalitan nga agad ito ng Pare Koy next month.

Pare Koy is an upcoming Filipino television sitcom on ABS-CBN, set to replace Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 2 Über. Their roles in the said series came from the characters they played on now defunct show, Aalog-Alog. It is the first Comedy-serye in the Philippine television history.
